The players, coaches, parents and board members of Middleburg Athletic Association truly appreciate the generosity of our sponsors and encourage MAA families and the Middleburg community to support these fine businesses. Their contributions not only help the individual team they sponsor, but are also used to support park-wide improvements. This includes equipment purchase and repair, grounds maintenance, hardship scholarships, concession improvements and clubhouse repair. Our association could not operate without the support of our players, families and these awesome sponsors.

Gordon Chevy and Car Show Fans Combine to Benefit M.A.A. Kids

It isn’t every day that someone hands you a check for $1,620 and says, “Spend it on the kids!” but that happened this week at Gordon Chevrolet. The proceeds from the Annual All-Chevy Reunion Car Show, held on April 21st on the grounds of the dealership, were presented to Larry LeClair, Middleburg Athletic Association’s President. GM Nathan Potratz, Roberta Wallace and Sharyl Brewer of Gordon Chevy and North Florida Classic Chevy Club President Wayne Witt were happy to select M.A.A. and the association’s 400-plus youth baseball and softball players as the event’s beneficiaries. “We can’t thank them enough,” said LeClair of the donation. “This is exactly what we needed to complete the park’s batting cage project that will get so many young players swinging and learning.” The car show featured rows of vintage Chevrolet vehicles spanning many decades, makes and models.

Gordon Chevy Brings Chevy Youth Baseball to Local Association
The management of Gordon Chevy hit a “home run” this week by selecting Middleburg Athletic Association (MAA) as its new home for the Chevy Youth Baseball program. To kick off the partnership, dozens of young MAA ball players, coaches and team moms descended on the Gordon Chevy dealership showroom on Blanding Blvd. to thank General Manager Nathan Potratz and his staff for committing to this major sponsorship. MAA president Larry LeClair was on hand to thank Gordon Chevy, to accept the sponsorship and to help transport the many donated sports items to the park. These items included batting t’s, buckets of balls, practice nets and more – all items that MAA’s players and coaches can really use as they kick of the Spring 2012 season. The Chevy Youth Baseball program even includes t-shirts for the players and a fundraiser raffle involving a Chevrolet vehicle and other great prizes.
But, Potratz wasn’t done yet. He had a major announcement to make to the group that had gathered. Thanks to Gordon Chevy, the Jacksonville Automobile Dealers Association (JADA) will fund a renovation and expansion project of the MAA batting cages increasing the number from four to seven. This is a much needed project for the association that was founded in 1974 and is home to more than 350 players during the Spring season. The kids and coaches were thrilled at the news! Everyone from MAA is extremely appreciative of Gordon Chevy’s staff and are so thankful for this new opportunity to improve the facilities and equipment for the children at MAA.
